Southwestern Special Education Mission Statement
| The Southwestern special educators believe that all children with special needs will have access to the general education curriculum of services and flexible extent possible. To accomplish this, the district will provide a continuum of services and flexible programs enabling students with special needs to successfully learn in the environment that is least restrictive for their individual needs. Special educators will help students understand their learning differences, use compensatory strategies, and advocate for their learning needs. A strong and effective partnership between general and special education teachers will create a learning environment that promotes the successful use of instructional strategies and techniques which will benefit all students. |
