Mr. Jon Peterson
High School Principal

Welcome to the new and improved Southwestern High School web site. Web master Mrs. Wendy Bond and her talented group of web assistants have done a wonderful job of updating and improving our site. Thanks to Mrs. Bond and her talented assistants I believe that you will find the site easy to negotiate. Simultaneously, I hope that you find our site to be informative.

The administration, faculty and staff of Southwestern High School are all dedicated to maintaining a safe environment where we value academic achievement and personal development for each and every student.

The Search Institute ( www.searchinstitute.org ) conducted research on 40 Developmental Assets that are the “building blocks of healthy development that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.” The 40 Assets support what we value as a school and are listed below. I encourage you to review the list with your student(s) and consider the areas in their lives where there are great strengths as well as areas that you would like to continue to develop as a family. Contact your administrator, counselor, teachers, advisors, coaches, and other mentors here at SWHS to let us know how we can help you in that continued development.
